Certificate lasts for 3 years
This course covers identifying the causes of infection and how they affect people, the way infections enter the body and how they spread to others, identification of the main communicable diseases, identifying the possible signs of infection, the law and how it relates to infection control, universal infection control precautions, recognising and dealing with infection risks, the importance of maintaining a clean home environment and identifying high risk areas around the home. Protecting yourself against Covid-19 has also been added to the course
